Sunny Checks Out Memphis' New INFO-HUB Library
and Gets to Meet the Owner of Purple Ink, Dawn!!

I had a terrific time visiting with this creative and really sweet person!  Not to mention how much I'd been wanting to see the new library, and all the nifty artwork on the front sidewalks.  I only wish I hadn't forgotten my digital camera!  Luckily, Dawn had hers, so at least we got one picture of us together~~!!

Here are a few more pictures of the library, taken by Dawn and used with her permission, since I was a scatterbrain...

These nifty poles have all kinds of inscriptions on them.  The back of this particular one had lots of symbols, including a lot that seemed to be associated with world religions.  The pole in the background is the one in the picture taken of Dawn and me, and has a digital pattern... perfect for us *ahem* mathematical genius types, right?  *grin*

Some of the art on the sidewalk.  Dawn and I  both particularly liked the turtle. (C'mon, girl... get that tattoo~~!!)

Here you see the astonishing use of the quote that offended the sensibilities of many Memphians.  Personally, I think it's kinda cool.  But then, hey.  I'm rather prejudiced when it comes to Dr. Seuss...

This is the entrance to the Children's Section of the library.  I told Dawn, "Can you just imagine coming to THIS library, as a child?"  It was almost magical in there.  We saw a story-time in progress in the little theater... tiny kids in there, being exposed to reading early... yay!  There is even a puppet-show window.  I wish there had been something like this when I was a child, or when my children were young enough to enjoy it!

I am hoping to get to see the exhibit that is being promoted here, "Czars."  I also thought the egg was just too cool.  Of course, I have a thing for eggs... :)

Thanks again to Dawn for a terrific morning, and for letting me use her photos.  I can't wait to go back in August.. hopefully I will have longer to peruse the library, this time, and will take more photos of my own, as well.
