A Surprise for Sunny

It had been a long night at work... very little business, very little money... and I was feeling kinda sickish.  I always get that rush of happiness on Monday nights, however, because Cat always takes me and picks me up from work, and seeing him and one or other various and assorted kids walk in to pick me up is such a treat.  This time, however, they had conspired against me...

It seems Cat and Tishie had been in an electronics store, of all places, the other day, when they noticed an acoustic guitar sitting there.  Cat says he hardly had time to register how odd that was when the guitar basically said, "Ahem."  *grin*  Yes, the guitar 'cleared its throat.'  And he stopped, looked at Tishie, who was sitting in front of it like an altar, according to Cat, and said, "I'm thinking I need to just buy that for your mom."

After bringing Carly back up there today to 'verify that it was indeed a guitar' (which cracked me up... to look at Cat you'd think he had at least some passing acquaintance with guitars, wouldn't you?) and get her opinion of it, they decided to yank my chain a little bit.  So on the way home from work, Cat says casually, "I was going to buy you some flowers tonight, because I saw this little roadside stand with some really unusual ones, but by the time I got back to it after picking up the kids, they'd closed it down."  I was so touched by the mere thought of it (I'm *really* low maintenance!) that I cheered up remarkably on the drive home... much to their concealed amusement!  But when I walked in the door, there it stood... you could have knocked me over with a feather!  Nobody has ever done anything like this for me... I mean, I have wanted a new guitar for going on 10 years now... and I only ever mentioned it to Cat once.

Now you tell me... how DID I get so lucky?
